Maria's Mexican Cantina opened its doors in January 2005, when two brothers, Luis and Daniel Ortega, had a dream of opening their own restaurant. The brothers had learned all the family recipes from their father, and wanted to share them with Joplin, Missouri.

After a slow start, people in Joplin began to notice the friendly service, home-style atmosphere, and the mouth watering Mexican cuisine. Maria's was such a hit, the brothers decided to open a second location in Webb City in 2011.

Luis and Daniel are still just as excited as ever about serving their traditional family recipes to the people of the Four States. They have built a team of nearly 40 employees to help make your visit to Maria's Mexican Cantina the best eating experience possible.

Luis and Daniel say there are three things that have helped them build a successful restaurant. The delicious food, the award-winning customer service, and the emphasis they place on serving the food very quickly.
